I love how watercolour starts you off somewhere and then takes you in a different direction than planned; an intuitive journey where a conversation takes place between the paint, the idea, your hands and your mind. Sometimes it’s a chaotic communication but today it went well and I felt good about the outcome.
I used the bleeding technique (not sure if thats the proper term) where you run a wet brush just along the edge of the paint on the paper and watch it feather and/or slide after the brush. It’s a super fun technique – I almost went overboard; good thing I’ve taken to starting multiple paintings at once to keep the ball rolling (and not fiddle!).
