Blue and Yellow Portrait | Day 12 World Watercolor Month

image

This portrait was done using phthalo blue (which I love!) and lemon yellow (which I almost never use). I made the paint run more than with yesterdays (I felt braver I suppose) and use a white gel pen to add the leafy/vine-y detail.

  1. She is a lovely creature, Sissh, and I especially enjoy the white scroll work you did. Phthalo blue is one of my favorite colors but I rarely use it unless I am painting beachy scenes. Actually, I tend to use a lot of warm colors rather than the cool, but now you have inspired me to go with cool colors. šŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much Carol. I’m so glad you like it. Yeah some days you gravitate towards cooler tones other times warmer – it’s great where inspiration can lead you. Garanteed to be fun for sure šŸ˜€
